Umed Bhawan Palace, Kota

Umed Bhawan came up in 1905 in the prevalent Indo-Sarcenic style. Plentiful supply of white Khimach and Pink Sandstone from nearby quarries helped, while Italian marble, among other things, had to be imported for flooring. Every visiting dignitary, including Queen Mary has been entertained at the Umed Bhawan. Steeped in history, the Palace hotel subtly blends Rajput and Victorian architecture. Haveli Braj Bhushanji was built 50 years ago and belongs to a family which gave the princely state of Bundi four prime ministers.
The Haveli is situated on the road to the palace and the terraces of this building allow one magnificent view of the city palace , the fort as well as the city.
